The c702 has a built in Netfront web browser, or if you prefer you can download and install the excellent Opera Mini.
Another way of using the handset away from imaging is as a mobile satellite navigation device. Thanks to the GPS support, by using Google maps you can navigate your way to anywhere you wish to go. Google Maps has over 20 million points of interest detailed world wide, so wherever you are you will always find what you need and how to get there.
Memory storage is more than adequate on the phone, with 160MB of internal memory and support for Sony M2 memory cards. Lastly, one of the best applications to ever appear on a mobile phone is also included on the C702 and deserves a mention. I am of course talking about the excellent TrackID. With TrackID you can record snippets of songs heard from the radio, stereo, on the internet, and upload that to the web. Within seconds details of that song are delivered in return to your phone. The information will generally include song name, artist and album details, plus an option to buy the song or download as a ringtone.

The survey was carried out by Lightspeed Research, and they found that the most popular items people would consider buying were DVD’s and CD’s, with 73%, followed by Books and Travel, which both came in at 55%.
Men were the most likely to use their phones for buying online, with 22%, whilst only 12% of women would consider shopping from their phone. I guess popping from website to website on the mobile to buy the first item they saw is not as appealing as popping from shop to shop, just to buy from the first shop they visited!
The figures were higher than those from the same survey conducted in France, where only 9% said they would shop from their phone, but Germany fared much better, with 25%.
Other items people would buy from their phone were flowers, at 48%, but clothes, food and toiletries were the least popular options. Lightspeed Research CEO for Europe, David Day, said:
This research suggests that the mobile phone could become a viable way for retailers to reach their customers.
The 24/7 nature of the mobile phone, a device that many people have with them all the time, and the increase in Internet-ready phones offers a real opportunity for retailers to match their offer to the products and services customers may want to buy in this way.
In many ways, this change in shopping habit is influenced by the same technological advances that boosted internet shopping generally. It was the introduction of home broadband that made online shopping the success it is today. Similar speed improvements with mobile broadband in phones such as the Samsung U900 Soul, Nokia N95 and LG Secret is certainly playing its part in making mobile shopping quicker and more convenient.
