The Sony Ericsson C702 is a Cybershot phone and the features are heavily weighted in the camera department, making this camera phone more than worthy of carrying the Cybershot name.
The C702 sports a very high quality 3.2 megapixel camera, optimised for one-handed use soyou will never miss a shot again. The camera uses autofocus technology, and also has support for face detection. If there is a face in the picture the phone will automatically recognise this and focus in. As well as this the phone is composed with steady grip materials and is also splash and dust resistant, which should appeal to the outdoor adventurer in us all.
Alongside this, the Sony Ericsson C702 has integrated GPS support, meaning you can use the C702 as the perfect Geotagging device. Rough and ready to use in all conditions outdoorsthis Sony phonecan record your location details via GPS when you take a picture. Many of the online sharing sites such as Flickr and Picasa will display the information alongside the picture, so you can show friends and families where you are when a picture is taken. Should they wish, and if they have a compatible handset, they can store the location in their phone and navigate their way to that location at their leisure.
The Sony C702 has support for mobile blogging and vlogging, so you don’t even need to be near a PC to upload your images. With built in HSDPA Mobile Broadband support you can upload photos and videos quickly and simply to your own online blog. With HSDPA support you can also utilise the Sony Ericsson C702 for accessing the internet and your email on the move. The c702 has a built in Netfront web browser, or if you prefer you can download and install the excellent Opera Mini.
Another way of using the handset away from imaging is as a mobile satellite navigation device. Thanks to the GPS support, by using Google maps you can navigate your way to anywhere you wish to go. Google Maps has over 20 million points of interest detailed world wide, so wherever you are you will always find what you need and how to get there.
Memory storage is more than adequate on the phone, with 160MB of internal memory and support for Sony M2 memory cards. Lastly, one of the best applications to ever appear on a mobile phone is also included on the C702 and deserves a mention. I am of course talking about the excellent TrackID. With TrackID you can record snippets of songs heard from the radio, stereo, on the internet, and upload that to the web. Within seconds details of that song are delivered in return to your phone. The information will generally include song name, artist and album details, plus an option to buy the song or download as a ringtone.
