Motorola’s “Sassy” new handset, the Motojewel

Anyone who’s been after a Motorola U9 but with a little more style look no further than the MotoJewel, a new clamshell handset Motorola’s bringing to the UK this November that’s Exclusive to Mobiles.co.uk and the Carphone Warehouse.

The phone is being promoted as “a phone so sassy that users will wish they could wear it.” by Motorola, which is a bold statement indeed!

As you can imagine with a name like Motojewel, it has been created for girls and definitely been designed specifically with the female fashionista in mind; so the next question has to be what makes it so sassy? Well, that’s an open subject of debate, but Im guessing it’s mostly down to the 3D crystal-cut design of the Midnight Quartz shell casing, which gives it that jewelled effect and the “dazzling” purple keypad that you won’t find on your average U9.

If that wasnt enough to convince you, the MotoJewel also comes with its own mini clutch handbag that has just enough room the handset itself, a credit card, and lipstick; everything a girl would need for a night out on the town, so Motorola believes.

On a more technical note the MotoJewel runs on a Linuxbacked Operating System and unless Motorola pulled a fast one on us and slipped in some 3G, it’s likely packing quadband EDGE. The specs are also pretty standard; it only offers a 2 megapixel camera which does lack some pretty basic features such as auto focus etc however, with Windows Media Player 11 installed, entertainment is not completely lost on this phone. It also comes equipped with external touch-sensitive music controls, stereo Bluetooth and Motorola’s patented CrystalTalk noise reduction for amazing voice clarity.

The MotoJewel will be coming soon to mobiles.co.uk, click here to take a closer look.
